How to Complete and View your Skills Scan

Whilst on your apprenticeship with Datalaw you will initially be asked to complete a skills scan form just before you start your apprenticeship.

This is to evaluate your current competency against the apprenticeship standards, and will be used as a initial starting point against which you will develop your skills in each of the apprenticeship standards. Before you complete a learner review with your coach, you will be asked to complete another skills scan to evaluate your progress on the apprenticeship.
In this article below it will show you how to access and fill out the skills scan form, as well as view your results and the skills scan chart.

Accessing and filling out your skills scan form:

In order to access the skills scan form for you to fill out, you will need to navigate to the 'Apprenticeship Hub' from your Datalaw account menu which is shown in the picture below:

Accessing the Apprenticeship Hub

Once your apprenticeship hub has loaded, as shown in the picture below, there will be an option in the left-hand navigation bar called 'Skills Scan Form'. When you click this it will take you to the skills scan form.

Accessing the Skills Scan Form

Once the skills scan form has loaded, it is important that you click the date field and mark the correct date for the form you are about to fill out.

It is best to navigate through the date selector, shown next to the arrow below, as if you enter the date manually it may not register correctly, and the date selector is a way in which this can be avoided.

Dating Your Skills Scan Form

Once you have selected the date it's time to fill out the form. This can be done by moving your mouse over the relevant skills scan score that reflects your current competency and clicking to enter your selection, as shown below:

Viewing your skills scan chart and results:

After completing your skills scan and saving the results you will be able to view the results in the 'Apprenticeship Skills' tab in your Apprenticeship Hub. The picture below shows the location of the 'Apprenticeship Skills' tab:

Accessing Completed Skills Scan Information

Within the 'Apprenticeship Skills' tab is the Skills Scan Chart, located just under the tab selector, which shows you a visualisation of your progress so far on your apprenticeship in each of the apprenticeship standards. The line plotted represents the date that the skills scan was taken with each circular point representing each of the apprenticeship standard questions answered in the form.

Skills Scan Chart and Results

The question table below the Skills Scan Chart displays the scores given against each apprenticeship standard, with the results displayed in a column which is labelled with the date the skills scan was completed, as shown in the picture below:
